February was quieter in theory, but the calendar didn’t get the memo. Between city runs, backyard livestock, ancient crochet projects reaching completion, and celestial alignments overhead, there was no shortage of material.
Hair did
Josslyn and I ran a downtown mission for a haircut — she got the full treatment, complete with mirrors, compliments, and whatever sorcery turns a haircut into a two-hour operation.
Somewhere between parking meters and hair product, we encountered a professional-grade bum several times. This dude needed help I could not provide. Standard harassment protocol was initiated: keep moving, don’t engage, and maintain possession of all visible goods.
No casualties. Good hair day.

Horse
We were invited to a birthday party hosted by friends who run a small farm — horses, chickens, a pony, and the general smell of authenticity.
The kids cycled between animal encounters and battering a piñata with the tactical efficiency of a medieval siege. Spirits were high. No fingers were lost to poultry or candy-related frenzies.

Rabbit
Stacey has crochet’ed each of the kids a stuffed animal. She has been working on this one for 7 years and finally was able to give it to Austin. It was received with due ceremony and closed a chapter. Long mission. Good finish.

Planets Align
7 planets were in alignment this month. We dont have the best lighting or a telescope, but we were able to lay on the driveway and admire the sky. Wesley was really into it and we made out several planets, constellations and satellites.
