Austin’s Birthday
This little guy is pure joy—so easy to please and always overflowing with sweetness. Put him around people, and he’ll talk nonstop, sharing his heart with anyone willing to listen. His love for God shines through in every conversation, as he eagerly speaks about faith and love with anyone and everyone. His birthday was fun. He chose a Chinese buffet, and we went to play games before opening presents. He giggled at his wrapped up granola bar presents.
Tennessee Snow Day
If the snow sticks in Tennessee, it is a snow day. We had somewhere between 3″-6″ around town, so we all got the day off.
A New Car
The minivan was awesome in lots of ways, but it was nearing the end of it’s useful life. We traded up for a used Yukon. Not nearly as practical but she loves it.

XB-1 Breaks Sound Barrier
When I joined Boom Supersonic in 2017 as the first member of the manufacturing engineering team, I didn’t fully grasp the scale of the challenge ahead. The journey of designing and building XB-1 was filled with obstacles, innovation, and perseverance. It was also some of the fastest learning sessions I have ever had.
Seeing the team push forward, especially after my time there, to take the aircraft beyond the concept to reality—and now, to the skies—is truly inspiring. Their dedication carried XB-1 all the way to its mission of breaking the sound barrier. Watching them deploy to the desert, execute the flight test campaign, and ultimately finish strong is an incredible reflection of their hard work and commitment.
I’m proud to have played a small part in the journey and even prouder of what they’ve accomplished. Congratulations to the entire Boom team on this historic achievement!.
XB-1, Boom’s supersonic demonstrator aircraft, successfully broke the sound barrier three times during its first supersonic flight on January 28, 2025. Beginning with XB-1’s historic first flight on March 22, 2024, the aircraft steadily progressed through a series of test flights at increasing speeds as it approached and ultimately exceeded Mach 1 – becoming the first civil supersonic jet to do so since Concorde. XB-1 is the world’s first independently developed supersonic jet, and the first civil supersonic jet designed and built in America.
