Swimming
June was super hot, and we spent a lot of time cooling off in the pool. We’re lucky to have awesome neighbors who let us splash around in their pool, even with all our craziness. Wesley and Austin are getting better at swimming. They still hang out in the shallow end, but it’s great to see them getting more confident in the water. It’s been a blast watching them improve and have fun.
camping/hiking
We had an awesome time when my brother came down from Columbus to go camping for the weekend. We set up camp at Abrams Falls Campground and tackled the same hike to Abrams Falls we did last year. The hike was about 11 miles round trip through the Smokies, the falls are cool, but crowded as there is an easier way to get there. It was great to spend time together and enjoy the outdoors.
wilderness water park
We were pumped to spend a weekend at Wilderness at the Smokies Resort, thanks to an amazing gift from Krystal. The place has both indoor and outdoor waterparks, so the kids were in chlorine heaven! We didn’t have to leave at all because they had everything—food, games, wave pools, slides, and a really nice room. It was an awesome mini-vacation, and we had a total blast enjoying all the water fun and activities.
fathers day
Father’s Day was great. Josslyn made me an awesome banjo card, which was super cool and thoughtful. She also surprised me with a full breakfast, and it was delicious. It was a perfect way to start the day and made me feel really appreciated.
Christian’s birthday
June was also the month we celebrated Christian’s birthday. We went to his favorite Mexican restaurant for a delicious meal – hamburgers. Afterward, we headed to Guitar Center to play around with a few guitars and pedals. he tried out different pedals but he knew what he wanted and ended up buying a Boss distortion pedal.
Braces
We also finally got the braces on for Christian. Not fun, but he did well.
