Video
This month was busy. The video captures only some of the fun. I took more pictures this month than what I have in the past, so lots more in the photo album as well (click the pictures to open the large version).
4th of july
The month’s fun started with the Independence Day. We celebrated the 4th at home with a bunch of fireworks and friends. We let the kids light a few before getting into the bigger stuff when the sun went down. We all had a blast (pun?).
Kings Island
Our road trip started in Cincinnati at Granny’s house and Kings Island. She has a picture pass for the rides:
You arent allowed to take pictures on rides, so here are the in between moments. A new one for us was the “Bubble Show” where they unleashed tons of bubbles and did some pretty fun bubble tricks.
We left the boy’s at Granny’s house and headed out on leg 2 of our trip to Akron.
Cuyahoga Valley National Park
In Akron, we stopped by Cuyahoga Valley National Park and rode the train – it was really fun. This was the last stop with any kids as we left Joss to go on her trip to Michigan with Grammy and Steve.
Michigan
Joss’s time in Michigan – They probably could have gone anywhere and she would have fun with Grammy escaping her brothers and parents.
Greenville
We stopped in Greenville to see G.G. – we walked the town taking some pictures before having some hot dogs at Majestic (a childhood favorite).
Niagara Falls ny
We stayed right by the falls and walked everywhere. We gambled about $40 and realized after years away from Nevada, we still dont like it. We decided to do a professional tour, and that was actually a great choice – he took us all around the area. We did the Maid of the Mist, Cave of the Winds and hung out on Goat Island.

Sackets Harbor ny
We celebrated our 16th anniversary at Sacket Harbor NY – An awesome little village on Lake Ontario. We went out on a choppy day sailing and exploring the historic town and battle field. The weather was perfect and the town was exactly the wind down experience we were looking for.

piercefield ny
Last year, I commissioned Zach to build an upright bass – his first build of this type so we spent the next several months planning the build and trip to pick up the instrument. He hosted us and his hospitality was amazing – we played nearly all of his current inventory of instruments he built and toured his shop and home.
We got the giant bass into the car, but not the bag I bought for it to protect it during the trip. We could only get it as far as Cincinnati where is stays waiting for it’s homecoming when we have more car space.
Erie pa
Our last night alone was in a Bed and Breakfast in Erie. It was on “Millionaire’s Row” and was a great time. The surrounding area wasn’t great, but we had fun playing games and relaxing in the house.
Back home
The dogs had fun too – they got to play ball and with other dogs at the boarding place. They took these pictures for us.
